WEDDING TIMING GUIDE
When it comes time to decide when to shop for your wedding gown, there are a few timing issues that are important to know. The following is a general guideline for how and when to go about buying your wedding day apparel.
Shopping:
-Schedule an appointment.
Call ahead and schedule an appointment, then we can assure you a fitting room and our utmost attention.
Espcially important during evening and weekend hours.
-Allow at least 90 minutes for your appointment.
Give yourself time to try-on gowns and enjoy yourself, without worrying about the time.
Bring no more than 3 people with you...too many opinions tend to be confusing.
Ordering your Bridal Gown:
Order your gown at least 8 months prior to your wedding date.
-Allow 4 months for the delivery of your gown.
Each of the gowns in our shop are made to order and, depending on the season, can take a shorter or longer amount of time to be completed.
-Allow 4 months for alterations.
All of our alterations are performed in-house by our personal group of bridal specialists. We ask our brides to be available for approximately 3 fittings to ensure a perfect fit.
Ordering your Bridesmaid gowns:
Make sure that all of your maids have been measured
and have paid by the designated due date.
-Allow at least 12 weeks for delivery.
Most of our bridesmaid dresses are made to order, but some designers offer a rush for an additional fee.
-Allow at least 6 weeks for alterations.
Bridesmaid dresses only require approximately 1-2 fittings.
Ordering your Flower girl dresses:
-Allow at least 6-8 weeks for delivery.
-Allow at least 4 weeks for alterations.
Flower girl dresses only require approximately 1-2 fittings.
Ordering your Accessories:
-Shoes: Allow at least 3 weeks for ordering shoes.
Shoes usually take no more than 2 weeks to arrive.
Shoes can take up to 6 weeks, especially if you are having them custom dyed.
Also, it is important to have your wedding shoes by your second fitting to ensure a proper hem and bustle length.
-Veil: Allow 6-8 weeks to order your veil.
Veils usually arrive earlier, but can take the full amount of time if you request custom changes.
-Jewelry & Headpieces:
We have jewelry and headpieces in stock for immediate purchase.
Allow 6-8 weeks for the following:
* Re-order of stock pieces
* Customization of select jewelry.
* Ordering jewelry for your bridal party.
-Undergarments:
We have undergarments in stock for immediate purchase.
Allow 4-6 weeks to order sizes not in stock.
It is important to decide on your undergarments before your second fitting to ensure proper bodice fit.
Many brides choose to have us sew cups into their gowns for comfort.
